Информация о финансовом положении предприятия, организации и об их изменениях, сгруппированная по специально сформулированным правилам в виде отчетных форм. Базовых форм три: бухгалтерский баланс, отчет о прибылях и убытках, отчет о движении денежных средств. Финансовая отчетность представляется в органы статистики, что делает ее открытой для внешних пользователей. Предназначенная же для внутреннего использования финансовая отчетность может содержать различные дополнительные формы, предусмотренные учетной политикой организации исходя из специфических задач управления.
